Karare Parish

Karare is 40 KM from Marsabit Town, set within semi-arid rural lands of Marsabit county. Karare is home to the pastoralist communities of Samburu, Rendille.

Korr Parish

The Salesian mission “Don Bosco Mission Korr,” belonging to the East Africa Province (AFE), is located in the Kaisut Desert and includes a parish, a kindergarten, and a festive oratory. Two Salesians serve there. “Don Bosco Mission Korr” is the first mission in the area and serves two nomadic tribes, the Rendille and the Samburu; in addition, every Sunday the oratory welcomes a group of about 150 children. The parish recently celebrated 50 years of service.

Illeret Parish

Illeret is a village in the north of Kenya in the tribal area of the Daasanach nomadic people. Located on the east shore of Lake Turkana it is only 17 km south of the Ethiopian border. For 40 years it was an outpost of the mission station of North Horr about 250 km south – a 6 to 8 hour journey on Kenyan roads
